History

The creation of the Antique Toy and Firehouse Museum came out of the love Jimmie Dobson and his late son Jeffrey shared for over five decades. Jimmie, and then Jeffrey, have always found a place for each and every toy they came across, whether the toy was big, small, old, or new.

The museum is filled to the brim with all of their most prized findings and they are now here for you to enjoy. Walking through the museum, you will be reminded of your own childhood as you gaze at the many toys that grace the shelves. In addition you will be surrounded by over 60 of Mr. Dobson’s real motorized fire trucks, which he has been collecting for over 50 years.

Kids from 1 – 101 will enjoy exploring the museum. Your expedition starts with the NASCAR Room – the room has almost every model collectible toy car ever raced. Completing the room is a real NASCAR Monte Carol driven by the late Jeffrey Dobson. Your journey will continue to the Tonka Room. The collection has been marked as the largest collection of Tonka Toys and Trucks in the World! It’s definitely a once in a lifetime viewing experience. Next is the highlight of the museum the motorized Fire Trucks. With over 80 fire trucks, with the oldest being the 1914 International, which is believed to the oldest motorized fire truck in the world. You can’t miss the pride and joy of the collection the New York Super-Pumper. The Biggest fire truck ever built. The Super Pumper could deliver 8,800 gals per minute for a distance of more than a 1/4 of a mile. The roar of its powerful engine could be heard for a long way and the drivers had to wear special ear protection to protect their ears. Snap-On Tool Room, Coca-Cola Room, 9/11 Memorial, The Antique Alarm System and much more.
